  1. Hi Oliver! I think that giant hammock looks so comfortable! How much fun would it be to have a big hammock here at school?! That tiny turtle looks so adorable! I'd love to hold one in my hand.

I'm glad you're not missing anything, and impressed too! I always get homesick when I travel. You must be having a great time.

The 1/2 students made cucumber maki sushi rolls with Beatrice's mom today. Then we ate every piece! Friday is Field Day! It will be fun, but a little cold. It's been raining a lot here, which is good because we didn't have much rain in May. I don't think it will rain on Field Day though. The end of school is coming fast.

We're missing you here, but are glad you're having this incredible adventure!

  2. Hi Oliver,

30 people in a hammock...how totally cool. Are the hammocks woven on backstrap looms?

What kind of turtle is that? We saw a turtle nest when we were camping. Unfortunately, an animal dug up the eggs and treated them like breakfast, leaving only the shells behind.

I once worked on a Leatherback Sea Turtle project. It was great fun to watch them hatch and hurry toward the light of the moon. One of my jobs was to keep them from going in the wrong direction toward the lights in town.

Give my best to your family! Looking forward to your next post.

    Many smiles,

    T. Deb
